All eyes were on Hong Kong legend Tony Leung last weekend becoming the first Chinese actor to receive a Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday. The 61-year-old superstar got a wee bit teary as he accepted his award and a standing ovation from the audience. “This is really a great honour” he said.
The man of the hour looked super dapper in his Armani suit but kept things a little more casual with his footwear of choice – a black pair of Men’s Balenciaga slash Adidas Triple S kicks. During the pre-awards festivities the night before, the actor caught the eye of sneakerheads when he rocked up in a colourful pair of extra funky Nike Dunk Lows from the brand’s recent collab with Hong Kong streetwear label CLOT. With such a rousing stamp of approval from the Shang-Chi star, CLOT co-founder Edison Chen also got in on the action as he excitedly reposted the film icon’s OOTD wearing the trendy trainers from their What The? Clot collab with Nike.
Despite his international stardom, Tony Leung has always been known to be quite down-to-earth. He’s often dressed casually and even made the news for literally being spotted in the same blue tracksuit, which many guess must be his favourite, when he rubbed elbows with celebrities on many occasions. Of course, he’s usually in his trademark trainers.
