Michelle Chen who’s a mentor on My Youth 少年行, a Chinese variety show that bring together 24 youngsters in a university-like setting, recently took a trip down memory lane when she put on the school uniform once more for a performance alongside the youths on the show.
She appeared in the flesh as Shen Chia-yi, her beloved character from the 2011 breakout film You Are the Apple of My Eye that instantly turned her into the nation’s first love. She made sure to procure the same clothes and even went as far as to hire the same hairstylist to do up her hair in a ponytail. Netizens praised her get-up and said that it’s hard to believe that 12 years has passed because she looks the same. Chen was only 28 years old when the movie first came out. The 40-year-old actress is now a mother and a wife having been married to 36-year-old actor Chen Xiao since 2016. They have a son together.
Giddens Ko’s You Are the Apple of My Eye is a coming-of-age film that has been well-received by fans and critics alike. It broke records and brought overnight fame to its stars Michelle Chen and Kai Ko, even its theme song “Those Years” sang by Hu Xia became a huge hit.
