There seems to be a whole lotta commotion over a clip of Super Trio host Eric Tsang (69) giving Malaysian model Lebara (26) a peck on the cheek after singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the candle with her. When confronted by the press, the celeb brushed off questions about the kiss when asked about it and said it’s not a big deal. “Well it’s the polite thing to do. I think the birthday kiss was a small peck. This is common courtesy”.

“This year, I got to blow out my birthday candles with the Prize Master (Eric’s nickname) who also wished me a happy birthday. My wish this year is peace in the world  and that there will be no hatred” captioned the model. In the clip she uploaded on Instagram, Eric was enthusiastically singing happy birthday and then later put his hand on her shoulder to blow out her birthday candles together before kissing her cheek.

The Polite Thing to Do

Eric Tsang said that he was in the restaurant attending a caviar tasting with his friends. Afterwards when a friend discovered he was there, they brought a few friends over and asked if he could help them sing happy birthday. “Well it’s the polite thing to do. After I finished singing, I kissed her on the cheek which is also the polite thing to do. I really don’t think there’s much to it. Then when I woke up today, there were lots of people calling me so I thought, what happened?! Turns out it was this so I wanted to come out to clarify things.”

I don’t know her” he said. Moreover, Eric said he was sure his friends wouldn’t have uploaded the video because those in the industry know that not everything should be posted online for public consumption. He also added that as an artist himself, random fans will almost always ask you to sing happy birthday together. “It happens all the time. When we attend birthday parties or weddings, people will ask me to get up on stage to sing together. I personally think it’s not that big of a deal.
