
Taiwanese celebrity couple Zhang Ting and Kevin Lin Ruiyang are reportedly under investigation by Chinese authorities after the company they set up is suspected of potentially employing pyramid style marketing and sales strategies. As a result, not only were the couple’s social media accounts in Weibo and Douyin, as well as the company’s Weibo account have all been suspended, their assets worth RMB 600 million were also frozen.
According to media reports, TST Tin Secret – the cosmetics and skincare company founded by the couple is being investigated by a 17 member task force over a potential pyramid scheme. As the amount involved and the number of people impacted is very significant, government regulators have taken to freezing the couple’s assets amounting to around RMB 600 million whilst pending investigation.

The couple’s personal social media acounts on Weibo and Douyin too were suspended together with TST Tin Secret’s official Weibo page for “violating relevant laws and regulations” and “breaching community regulations” respectively.
