Action Star Wu Jing Probably Has Had More than a Hundred Stitches in His Career!

As a Chinese martial artist who does his own stunts, I’m pretty sure actor Wu Jing is very much aware of the hazards of his job. Well, enterprising fans of the action star recently made a detailed summary of all his injuries and boy, you’ll definitely be shocked when you see the extent.

The diagram reveals he’s probably had a hundred or more stitches from all the falls and breaks he’s had throughout his life; and it doesn’t appear any part of him managed to go unscathed from his head and even his face(!), to his arms, fingers, waist and legs, even down to his feet! Not that it’s entirely surprising though since we are after all talking about the same man who got married in crutches after injuring his legs whilst filming a scene that required him to jump from a building!

Wu Jing is married to wife, TV host and actress Xie Nan. They have two boys, the eldest, Wu Suowei 吴所谓, was born in 2014 and their youngest was born in 2018. His wife recalled in an interview the time she visited him on-set and how she totally got the fright of her life watching him dangle from a rope mid-air after a helicopter hoisted him up. And he even waved hello at her! She said she almost fell to her knees to beg him to come back down! That’s clearly dedication to his craft on his part right? Xie Nan also said, “Watching other people act and watching your own husband act, seeing it on TV and the big screen is different from seeing him attempt these dangerous stunts on set.”

Wu Jing's injuries

Born into a martial arts family, Jacky Wu Jing began his training at the tender age of six before moving on to train and compete professionally with a martial arts team at age 15.  One time, the actor was said to have been hospitalised for a long time from the extent of his injuries that turning over in bed required him to pull the head of the bed just to be able to do so.
