The internet recently went abuzz after Hu Ge was seen watching the musical “The Orphan of Zhao” 赵氏孤儿 of his ex-girlfriend Xue Jianing. Hu Ge had a hat and mask on while sitting in the audience and stood next to Xue Jianing in a group photo taken onstage later on. Hu Ge has had two publicly known girlfriends. He was in a relationship with Xue Jianing early in his career. He confirmed that he was dating actress Maggie Jiang Shuying in 2014 yet the two parted ways after less than a year.
Many were surprised to see Hu Ge and Xue Jianing together again. Even after their breakup, Hu Ge has talked very highly of his ex-girlfriend in past interviews to say that she’s a very good person. They were together during the time when Hu Ge got into a serious car accident. He said that she took care of him, gave up her own career and sacrificed a lot to care for him. It’s no wonder many are hoping that the two can rekindle their romance or are at least happy to see that they appear to still be good friends.
When asked about it, Hu Ge’s manager denied that the former couple have gotten back together and said, “The director of the musical is Hu Ge’s longtime friend. He was suddenly called onstage by the director. For it to have caused so much unnecessary speculation, sorry about that!”
