Given the runaway success of last year’s campus drama Go Go Squid! it’s not entirely surprising to find out that a spin-off to the original is now in the works. And who better to star in it than the drama’s second lead Wu Bai/DT played by actor Hu Yitian who finally gets a hand to be the leading man in his very own love story with romantic interest Appledog played by actress Li Yitong.
Go Go Squid 2: DT Appledog’s Time 亲爱的挚爱的 just dropped its very first stills to give us a taste of what’s to come, and yep the sequel still has that lighthearted and sweet romantic vibe ever present like the original. What do you guys think? Can you imagine yourselves feeling the warm fuzzies already? Are y’all gonna be shipping the super cute pairing Hu Yitian and Li Yitong make?
While we’re on the subject of Go Go Squid!, it would be remiss of us not to also include a little update on Li Xian aka Han Shangyan’s newest project A Love Never Lost 人生若如初见which also shared a few new stills today. In it, Li Xian co-stars with actress Chun Xia as they form a revolutionary group of forward thinking youths set to bring about change.
As expected, since the drama is set in the aftermath of the Sino-Japanese war, the mood from the photos feels quite somber. And personally, I’m really hoping to see MORE in the future since today’s drop has left me feeling a tad underwhelmed at least in the visual department though I have to admit, Li Xian does look good in uniform with a totally different getup from his Republican era look in Tientsin Mystic!
