Based on a novel of the same name, Falling into Your Smile 你微笑时很美 which has recently wrapped filming has dropped a slew of stills to announce its ensemble cast. Seeing everyone with their serious game face and headsets on and it’s pretty clear what kind of drama this is.
After his breakout role as Fuheng in Story of Yanxi Palace, Xu Kai has dabbled in a variety of genres but he’s always in costume whether it be the ancient or the Republican era. Falling into Your Smile marks Xu Kai’s first modern drama and he will play a gaming god. Cheng Xiao who first debuted in the South Korean-Chinese girl group Cosmic Girls has been steadily building up her acting resume as this will be her fourth drama. She plays a female gamer who has the skills yet finds it difficult to prove herself in an industry dominated by men.
Zhai Xiaowen who debuted in R1SE after winning 6th place in Produce Camp 2019 will play the second lead. Yao Chi who ranked in 12th place on Youth With You plays the third lead. Zhou Yiran, Wang Ruoshan, Merxat Mi Re, Ling Chao, Gao Han, Xiao Kaizhong, Wang Yijun, Qi Yandi, Sun Kai and Cui Shaoyang also star. Many of the cast whose names sound new are alumni from various survival reality shows.
From Just One Smile is Very Alluring to Go Go Squid, e-sports romances have proven its potential to become huge hits that often sees its leads skyrocketing to fame. The question is, can they do it again?
