Stories celebrating the resilience of the human spirit have always resonated well with audiences so it’s not entirely surprising that the various inspirational stories in the fight against COVID-19 have already been picked up for the new and aptly named drama Together (lit.) 在一起. The government supported series is being produced by SMG Shanghai Media Group, Youhug Media and SMG Pictures. It has already held several media visits to some of its filming locations in Beijing, Wuxi, and Shanghai and if your eyes are sharp enough, you’ll surely recognize actors Lai Jiayin, Yang Yang and Jin Dong amongst the others.
Of course being an anthology, we can certainly expect an even longer cast list of stars to participate in this tribute to everyday unsung heroes. In fact, other than the three celebs already mentioned, director Liu Jiang has also let slip that Johnny Huang Jingyu and Li Xiaoran will also be starring in another mini story.

Unlike the usual drama format we’re all used to – main plot with secondary storyline etc, Together will boast a collection of ten mini vignettes with two episodes each, and each short story is set in different locations all over China to better showcase real stories of people from all walks of life working together (hence the title) to overcome tremendous difficulties posed by the crisis.
The series is expected to premiere on October 4 this year and has already begun filming some of its scenes with Lei Jiayin, Yang Yang and Jin Dong.
