Finally, after weeks of radio silence from the idol, a little egg in the form of a new post on Xiao Zhan’s social media page appeared just in time for the Easter weekend.
Of course, while the post itself is essentially just a photo of plum blossoms that have started to flower in springtime, dare we hope that it is a sign that the idol has finally decided to emerge from his self imposed seclusion like the flowers that have already started popping up for the season?
Since the backlash from the A03 controversy precipitated by some of Xiao Zhan’s fans exploded the industry which gave birth to the boycott Xiao Zhan movement at the end of February, the idol has pretty much been keeping his head down for the time being until things have calmed down a little. In stark contrast to how his Weibo page used to be chock full of updates about him and his projects, laying low has meant there has been almost zero activity on his social media page, save for a lone repost thanking healthcare professionals for their sacrifice a couple of days ago.
It’s nice to see Xiao Zhan finally taking baby steps to get back on the horse so to speak. With nary a peep coming from the actor’s camp, rumours have naturally been spreading and some people have even gone so far as to claim that a certain “X surnamed actor” has been diagnosed for depression. Of course now suddenly he’s become the target of another wave of vitriol from some Netizens who say he’s using “depression” to get back on the good side of people. Thank goodness this was already debunked by the hospital he was allegedly getting treatment in.
Anyway, I’m sure many fans concerned with how he’s been doing are very happy to see that he’s at least started updating his social media again. Here’s hoping that Xiao Zhan will be able to bounce back from it all better and stronger this time around. Update: Adding this for those who want to know what happened.

An annoying fan fic writer started the whole issue, since she dared the start everything, she should face it heroically but she use death threat and committing suicide to win. Those anti-XZ emphasize with that lowly creature, but somebody who did nothing like XZ doesn't deserve the slightest empathy? Does anyone see the contradiction? Anti-XZ are inhumane and has no empathy to begin with, they are only pretending to empathize with the writer to make XZ lose. Their goal is clearly aiming at XZ's downfall, they're just playing victims.
XZ obsessives fans are no longer as annoying as the anti-XZ group who calls themselves 227. Anything they said are done by XZ fans, they never have a single solid proof. XZ fans suffered so much. What's more, those 227 attack XZ personally too, and spread malicious rumors all over the place.
It doesn't matter how annoying you guys think the fans are anymore, I think it's time to support the fans and destroy the evil 227 from flattering about how everybody believes their fake rumors.

Who said fanfic can be about just anything? I love Yang Mi, I’m gonna use her as an example because she is famous, maybe more than Xiao Zhan. If I write about Yang Mi in a fanfic and write that she is a prositute and explicitly write about her sex scenes, and an artist is going to draw that out, what would her fans (or even non-fans) think? SPECULATION 1. Xiao Zhan fans report made A03 shut down
*** NOT TRUE: This is baseless with no proof. Give out evidence first. No matter how likely it is, it is still only as possible as the same thing with 227 reporting A03 to frame Xiao Zhan fans.
A03 was reportedly going on and off even before all these. It’s way too coincidental, that’s why the writer is suspected to choose the right timing to do all these.
*** IF TRUE: Fans did the right thing. The story should be reported. The problem was brought up to the writer already and she continued to stir problem. She could just take it out and use another platform. It’s obvious what her goal and intention is at that point.
SPECULATION 2. 227 disguised as Xiao Zhan fans and reported the entire A03 platform.
*** A HIGH POSSBILITY: It’s too coincidental that this happened when A03 was having performance issues. Pretending to be somebody else and make a public announcement that you will shut down A03, and it really happened to shut down for real, an easy ruse to make who seems like the culprit.

227 are equal suspects as the fans too, but after they successfully push all the blame at the fans, they also spread tons of fake rumors about Xiao Zhan including such rumors that his family died. Xiao Zhan career was affected and lost endorsements.
If you ask who’s more terrible? Some Xiao Zhan fans are terrible, but are they as terrible as the writer and 227? At least they are just protecting an idol in a very selfish way. But 227 and the writer slyly created a tricky spot for somebody clean to be unable to escape from being burned alive.
SO I rather support the bad fans, I wouldn’t care who is disguising as fans and create problem (that is uncontrollable), and I would support the bad fans. Stop supporting 227, when 227 no longer have any support this problem will go away. 227 needs to extinct first, then when there are only the bad fans left, good fans should kick out bad fans with attack whenever they appear. Right now, 227 is creating trouble everywhere worse than the bad fans, just gang up with the bad fans for now and distinguish 227 first.

This writer isn't even special. She wouldn't have done anything if people didn't go out of their way to share her fic. Like you see false information from 5.a, she said the writer put tags and warning on her fanfic and XZ's fans choose not to ignore her fanfic. Not even true. The tags were not there, after luring the fans in and getting them angry as intended, AO3 was shut down by nobody knows. The most suspicious is the writer and her supporters who are targetting XZ. But all the blame was just pushed at fans and XZ only, when the other party is so much more suspicious. They use lots of LIES to make things messy and cover up.
If this problem is over I wouldn't bother saying anything but people are still targeting the actor that it's all his fault for not grooming his fans. So annoying!

Hey guys, I really a fan of Xiao Zhan. So handsome and had many talents. I hope all this scandal and stuff get over soon. it is annoying. I think they need to shift it from the bad scandal and shift back to his work. he should be paired up with good actresses to help him out of the negativity, so far I don't see any good candidate. It's huge competition for Chinese Celebs to have fans, lots of actresses and some actors even bought their own fans. Usually I don't trust overhyped actresses with huge fanbase that's unrealistic when their acting is so average. What you think is reality might not be the truth. Some fans might sound crazy, but that might just be because they were hired to be a fan. Second is, competitors also hired fake fans to act crazy and cause troubles as well. Possibly, nobody is crazy in real life but paid to act crazy. C-fans make up how much of the C-population? If they are all crazy for real, I suppose nobody in China is graduating and hard working like claimed in the media.

Marketing play a big role. Nowadays, there are very few Chinese celebs with strengths to match their popularity. People with strengths are often 'explosion-proof' by their competitors in order prevent them from becoming 'traffic'. Opposite is also true, company can also create a so call 'traffic' by excessive marketing even though they don't have the strength to complete with others.
In any cases, ''traffic' can only last for so long. Everyone knows that only 'work' can speak and be recognize by a wider audience. Fans are only a small number, it is the quality of your work that will speak to the rest of the C-population. How long you can stay popular and how long you can last in this industry really depends on your strength and your work.
