Jackie Chan Denies Quarantine Rumors and Assures That He’s Healthy

With the continuous spread of COVID-19, some of our beloved stars are either in isolation or home confinement. Recently, there were rumors that international action star Jackie Chan has been added to the list.

The Hong Kong-born actor is known to be one of the many celebrities rallying against the epidemic by donating medical supplies and even setting up a huge sum of money to reward anyone who can help develop a cure so naturally when his name popped up, fans were concerned.

Previously, Jackie Chan and other celebrities attended a large gathering with the Hong Kong Commissioner of Police and other officers that drew some criticism due to the timing of the event amidst the outbreak. Last week, a Hong Kong policeman tested positive and over 50 officers who attended a gathering with him were placed under quarantine. As it turns out, the two were completely separate events held in different places.

Jackie Chan took the time to address the rumors through his social media accounts. On Instagram, he wrote ‘Thanks for everybody’s concern! I’m safe and sound, and very healthy. Please don’t worry, I’m not in quarantine. I hope everyone stays safe and healthy too!’ His son Jaycee Chan showed concern as well when he commented on Jackie’s post and said, “That shocked me.” Jackie responded, “Why is this student always getting surprised by his dad.”

Jackie also posted a lengthy yet similar message on his Facebook account while revealing that he received donations from his fans. ‘Firstly, I’d like to take this opportunity to say “thank you” for everybody’s concern! I’m very healthy and safe, and haven’t been quarantined. I’ve received many messages from friends asking if I’m ok. Your love and concern is so heartwarming. Thank you! I’ve also received some very special gifts from fans all over the world during this very difficult time. Thank you for the face masks. Your thoughtfulness is well received! And I’ve asked my lovely staff to donate your kindness through official organizations to those who need it most. Thank you!’
I’m truly glad that he’s okay. I hope we’d see the end of this epidemic soon!
