With the constant buzz about celebrity couples especially at the start of the year, it looks like the first couple we have to welcome a new decade is coming from K-pop now that Super Junior‘s Kim Heechul and TWICE‘s Momo are revealed to be dating. Although they have a 13-year age gap, I think the two of them look so darn cute together!
The news has been confirmed by their respective agencies, SJ Label and JYP Entertainment, saying that they’ve taken their “sunbae-hoobae” (senior to junior) relationship to the next level and are trying to work it out despite their busy schedules. The two became close in 2017 and were first hounded with dating rumors back in August of last year but it died down after their agencies denied it.
This is definitely a change for K-ent because the first day of the new year is normally reserved for Dispatch to reveal the New Year Couple but it turns this year is a little different. And truth be told, I’m really happy for Heechul. He’s had such a terrible 2019 with the deaths of his close friends so knowing that he has someone special to share his innermost feelings with kinda eases my worries.
I also find their relationship cute because as most people know, Heechul was a fanboy of TWICE and Momo was her crush. He looked so cute when he gushed over her and even went as far as naming his dog Zorr because it was a word play on his impersonation of Momo’s first line in their song ‘Cheer Up.’ Aww.
I’m happy for the two of them and hope that they can somehow make this relationship work!
