Another medical drama that kicked off filming yesterday is Breath of Destiny 一起深呼吸 which stars No Secret’s Qi Wei and Tony Yang Youning who played Su Mingyu’s romantic interest in the hit drama All is Well. While this may be touted as a medical drama, Breath of Destiny is a little bit off the beaten track since the story takes place in a fictitious island where our two doctors are volunteering on a medical mission. This is definitely a far cry from the usual medical shows where the drama takes place within the sterile walls of a hospital. To complicate things further, disaster strikes in the form of an earthquake. Well away from the familiar confines of a hospital and surrounded by the chaos and dangers posed by the disaster in the small island, there’s definitely plenty of drama to be had! Doctors, prepare yourselves because you’re definitely not in Kansas anymore!
Breath of Destiny also stars Zhang Junning, He Zhengjun, Tu Ling, Di Xiaoxing, Wang Bingxiang, Bai Zixuan, Xie Xintong and Li Diechen.
Also, can I just say that the posters are also very un-medical drama like. In fact if not for the white doctor’s coats in the first poster, you can hardly tell it’s a story about doctors on a medical mission.
