They say acting is not an easy job, and what if you’re tasked to play not just one but two characters for a role? Will you be able to prove your versatility and make the viewers believe that you can transform into two different people?
The same goes for Love is Fate actress Zheng He Hui Zi who has been announced as the leading lady in the drama Ugly Beauty 皮囊之下 alongside actor Huang Shengchi who is fresh from playing the boy next door romantic lead of campus drama Mountains and Ocean. Ba Yue Chang An‘s (author of beloved novels-turned-dramas With You, Unrequited Love, My Huckleberry Friends) is behind the screenplay.
Ugly Beauty tells the story of twin sisters, a famous older sister who is very ambitious and a kind younger sister who will assume her identity when an unforeseen event befalls her.
Huang Shengchi will take on the role of an entertainment reporter who in his desperate attempt to find out the sudden change in the persona of the usually dominant girl, falls in love with her in the process. How is he going to react when he finds out she’s actually someone else?
Although Ba Yue Chang An is usually known for her coming-of-age novels, I wonder how she will fare with this genre considering the fact that it’s not situated in a school campus. I can only hope the show will be able to live up to her track record.
