Oh my goodness, the drama gods must have heard our prayers because just like that, the long awaited The Pillow Book 三生三世枕上书 in the Three Lives Three Worlds franchise just dropped a tantalising trailer for us wee mortals to enjoy.
Go ahead and have a watch. I won’t blame you if you hit that replay button a couple of times since the visuals are stunning! And how about that opening shot eh? Nothing screams welcome back into our universe than that gorgeous shot of Feng Jiu and Dong Hua sitting underneath the branches of a heavily laden peach tree.

Dilraba Dilmurat reprises her role as Feng Jiu, the super pampered nine tailed fox of Qing Qiu. She comes off with an almost childlike innocence and curiosity thanks in part to her being an overindulged queen and also for her features. In contrast, as the Emperor of Heaven, Vengo Gao’s Dong Hua is as elegant and mature as ever, an extension of what I remember him to be in Eternal Love. I really loved seeing a playfulness in his interactions with the adorable Feng Jiu while still managing to maintain a dignified mien.

Having the two leads coming off of the original series means that expectations will certainly be very high for The Pillow Book. So I really hope the hype will bear fruit and produce a spin off that’s worthy of the original. Oh and since the drama also released a new poster to coincide with the trailer … could this mean … that a 2019 release is in the horizon? I don’t wanna get my hopes too high up just in case the show’s premiere will once again be pushed back. But I’m still keeping my fingers crossed.

The romance is the central plot of this drama but I don't know how I'm gonna ship them with Vengo looking like a greasy old man in that white wig! His acting also is the most tragic out of all Jaywalk actors. I don't understand why can't they change the male from TMOPB and cast some hot and young looking actor for goddess Dilireba?! I've never felt anything for the second pairing in TMOPB mainly because of Vengo. You guys who think they look cute together are seriously weird.
This drama would have turned out much better if it has more visually pleasing male lead I'm UPSET thinkingthe cute stuff we could have got if the male lead is hot

@Anonymous 1: Vengo does NOT look like a greasy old man. First of all, he's only 36. You might go, "Woah, that's pretty old" but NOPE. I'm literally 14 years old and I think he ISN'T old. Second of all, I think the white hair is supposed to make him look more mystical. I didn't like his hair when he had to travel to the mortal realm and change his hair to black. And plus, DONG HUA IS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE OVER 100,000 YEARS OLDER THAN FENG JIU.

Guess a lot of weirdos out there to you then and that's me included. There's nothing wrong with Vengo being old since Dong Hua is way older than Feng Jiu. And Vengo was great playing the stoic Dong Hua in TMOPB. And yeah, he totally rawked that white wig. Not to mention he improved a lot in Candle In The Tomb, so I have hope that he would bring the same A game here as Pillowbook was shot later than Candle, and him having experienced working with a credible movie director.
Bring it on. Been waiting for so long to watch my fave couple.

Lol, fans worshipping their idols. I guess that’s all Dilraba is known for – her looks

Funny thing is that Vengo is perfect as DongHua BECAUSE he is stoic what is quite normal for the oldest god alive. Also think he owns the white hair because he hasn't that boyish looks anymore. We have far enough Dramas with little cute boys so please leave us older generation some meat also, ne?
I hope, like last time, the writers aren't following the book too closely since it was the best that could happen to TMOPB. As much I like both books the writer isn't someone I would call skilled. It is an enjoyable reading but most of the great stuff we make up in our minds. Besides I'm sure lots of Fans want some loose threads picked up again for sure.

no offense but you sound like a 10 year old girl who clearly doesn't care at all about the character itself or the drama and just the actors looks. If it was a 'hot young guy' as you say than you would probably pay attention to what's happening in the drama. there's this thing could casting actors to suit a character's characteristics casting a 'hot young guy' for Dong Hua Di Jun would be horrible casting choice. Vengo may be an 'old man' but 'old people' can be attractive as well. I'm tired of people being obsessed with youthful looks. I'm 20 so don't come at me saying I'm complaining cause I'm an 'old lady'

Everyone will have their own image of who should play the role if you read the novel. I think he suits the role quite well. Dong his is supposed to be a great deal older than Feng jiu anyways. Reba isn't much better at acting but somehow she gets a pass because she's pretty? If based on acting then both aren't great casts for their respective roles but I'm hopeful that they've improved…
Blue Angel
Let's give the actors the benefit of the doubts, shall we? Nothing is set in stone anyway. They both are hard working people so let's keep our judgements until the actual drama comes out. Sure there are actors out there who are naturally talented but Reba and Vengo can improve with time too. I have seen so many improvements in their acting projects after projects. They were amazing as FengJiu and Donghua in TMOPB. I know some books fans would disagree with me. Because the ones they know from the books are slightly different from the characters from TMOPB. FengJiu is actually that not childish and DongHua is not a pushover by the so called fate either in the pillow book. But still, I found it amazing the way Reba and Vengo portrayed the characters in TMOPB. According to the timeline, it's more suited for FengJiu to be still childish and innocent in there because she was still young and Reba perfectly nailed it. And those of you who were bashing Vengo for being stoic and expressionless in there, read the book, please. He's exactly the way Donghua would behave and like everyone was saying, he's way older than FengJiu.
Now, let's just wait for the drama in peace.

Lol, fans of Dilraba are all over messing up with everyone. But, she only has beauty and average acting ability. Her past series esp Pretty Li Hui Zhen are marred by her over the top acting which shows little emotion. I may not be a fan of Vengo, but his acting is more controlled.

I can feel it, I know I'm going to love this.
A lot of unique aspects in the trailer I wasn't expecting. Then again, we've only had a few released photos and a production trailer to go by up until now. I know it differs in style compared to TMOPB but I don't mind at all. TMOPB already exists and it's lovely, but I do enjoy something new and I'm digging the changes, it's giving The Pillow Book it's own personality.

I was literally squealing all throughout as I was watching the trailer. And I squealed even more the next 134578 times I rewatched it. The visuals are STUNNING, the characters are so ON POINT and I'm just on PINS AND NEEDLES waiting for the drama to finally air. I loved the Pillow Book books so much and with just the trailer I have a feeling that the production team and the actors are on the right track. Can't wait for it to come out soon!! ??

By the way, you have to have watched Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms/Eternal Love first, because that's Season 1 to this drama. Just wanted to give you a heads-up.
