Have you ever wondered what it would be like to know the inner thoughts of everyone around you? Well, that’s exactly the unique ability of the male lead in No Secrets 没有秘密的你.

This romance drama with legal themes is based on the Korean hit drama I Hear Your Voice which starred Lee Jong-suk and Lee Bo-young. The Chinese remake starring Jin Han and Qi Wei follows a young man with a special ability and a public defendant with a shared past.

Jin Han veers from his villainous role to play Jiang Xia, a young man with telepathic abilities. If it’s the same as the Korean drama, the hero witnesses his father getting murdered as a young boy and almost gets killed by the same man if not for a high school girl who later testifies against the culprit. All grown up, Jiang Xia seeks to find the girl from his past to thank her and protect her.

Qi Wei plays the heroine Lin Xingran. She has grown up to become an unsuccessful attorney and eventually becomes a public defender. Her journey into the legal system brings her face to face with her direct superior Zhang Xiaoyang, played by Sunny Wang. Maggie Huang who’s also had her fair share as a drama villain plays Gu Siyu, an outstanding lawyer and a tough competitor.

As fate would have it, Lin Xingran and Jiang Xia reunite after 10 years and the unlikely couple will soon have to deal with the nightmare from their past. Out of all the Korean-adapted dramas that C-ent had made, this might be my favorite. I’ve always been a sucker for Western shown in the same genre but the K-drama counterpart has its own twist and turns that made me love it.

As with other remakes, what I’m hoping for is that personal touch so that it doesn’t become a mere re-telling of the same story with new actors. Both leads have a trail of good dramas so I’m excited to see their performance, especially Jin Han, who is showing a lot of potential as a rising star.

It most likely will not be able to live up to the originals but I've almost never seen Chinese legal dramas. I'm assuming because there might be strict censorship about this theme, so I'm pretty excited to see how they handle the legal genre and how China's court look like.
I really hope the cases are different and they won't copy the exact scene by scene like Chinese remake of Age of Youth.
