Your Home Is MyBusiness 卖房子的人, the Chinese adaptation of the popular J-drama of the same name, is almost ready to “open its house for business” in 2020 now that filming has finally wrapped. After 147 days on the set, the cast and crew can finally catch their collective breaths since shooting is officially done.

The drama delves into the life of a hotshot real estate broker played by actress Sun Li whose work motto is “there isn’t a house I cannot sell” as she’s pulled in to save an under performing branch of the agency managed by actor Luo Jin’s character. This drama is actually Sun Li’s first foray back into the modern genre in a while since appearing in costume dramas these past few years, though as the queen of Chinese television, I’m pretty sure she can manage. But will she be able to replicate the comedic note that characterizes the original J-drama version while adding her own twist to the character is the question.

Your Home is My Business is another drama amongst the string of remakes that’s currently experiencing an upswing in C-ent. I’ve always been a little apprehensive about remakes because more often than not, the original version still stands out as the best. But given that we have two skilled actors headlining this drama, it’s interesting to see whether the Chinese version will be able to make it work.
