I gotta hand it to the netizens for landing a scoop whether by coincidence or not. Someone had run into Zanilia Zhao Liying having a meal with director Zheng Xiaolong at a restaurant in Beijing which led to speculations that the two may have a project together. After news spread, both sides have confirmed that a drama is indeed on the way.
Zhao Liying is expected to star in a modern female-centric drama. It is her first project after giving birth and a reunion with director Zheng Xiaolong whom she worked with in the 2007 drama Golden Wedding which won the Magnolia Awards for Best TV Series among others.
Back then, Zhao Liying was just in a small role playing the younger version of Jiang Wenli and Zhang Guoli’s third daughter in the drama. It’s quite nostalgic to see that 12 years has passed and that she’s become such a sought-after actress in c-ent.

Zhao Liying picked up some good projects lately. After Daylight, then this. I'm so happy for her! I've been wanting to see her in woman-centric drama so so yeay to this! He's a good director too.

I always thought those dinner scenes with ridiculously large tables, wine, and sleekly dressed actresses in dramas were exaggerated, but I guess that's how it really is!
