For all the Yang Yang fans out there like yours truly, have you said your greetings yet? The actor celebrated his 28th birthday today! Meanwhile, Yang Yang has spent a good part of this year working on the drama Glory of Special Forces 特战荣耀 which is still in the middle of filming.
It’s kinda funny how this drama still reminds me of The King’s Avatar because Glory is also the name of the online game in the e-sports drama. Nonetheless, the similarities end there. After bringing to life one of my favorite anime characters, Ye Qiu, Yang Yang undergoes another transformation.
This time, he is a military man in training who’s determined to win his father’s approval. Gah. It’s the first time I’m seeing him in this kind of role and I’d be lying if I say that I didn’t like it.
Given the theme, it seems that we can expect a series of action-packed sequences what with the actors jumping through hurdles, crawling through mud and dodging explosions. It’s pretty clear that it’s a physically intensive role and I love how much buffer Yang Yang looks here.
I can only imagine the amount of work put in not only to achieve the look but also to nail the stunts, so I really hope this fares well. And please, no unnecessary bloodbaths (which are reasons I think a lot of action films tend to fail).
