Ten Years Late (2019)

Is it really possible to rekindle the spark with an old flame? Not just with any old flame mind you, but your first love! Poems and songs have been written about the “what ifs” of first love, of people fantasizing about what might happen if they rekindled the relationship. The 39-episode TV series Ten Years Late 十年三月三十日 is all about second chances as one man goes all out to reclaim the love lost between him and his first love in a story that follows them from university to work place, spanning a decade. It is said to be based on the Japanese manga Asunaro Hakusho by Fumi Saimon which has also sprung several adaptations.

Shawn Dou plays Jin Ran, a man living the life as a successful head-hunter with a prestigious posting overseas. He decides to give this all up and return to his native China as the Chief Operating Officer of Feitu Travel Agency where he is reunited with his first love Yuan Lai, portrayed by actress Gulnezer Bextiyar. Hoping to rekindle their old spark, Jin Ran pursues her relentlessly. From their campus days together to the professional challenges in their current workplace ten years on, these two will take you through the highs and lows they encounter in life, love and career.

Joining our main characters are two other couples, career driven Xu Xinyi and e-sports gamer Ding An whose happiness is cut short after a tragic accident takes Ding An; and intern Shen Shuangshuang and Zhao Chengzhi whose monotonous life is livened up with the entrance of Shuangshuang into his life. Watch as these six young individuals chase after their dreams and find love in this journey called life.
