I’m a hundred percent positive that I’m not the only one who’s been eagerly waiting for Ji Chang Wook‘s comeback drama following his release from the military, right? Well, great news for fans since his upcoming series Melting Me Softly is just around the corner.

Ji Chang Wook plays Ma Dong-chan, a PD in a popular variety show who’s also a risk taker and welcomes challenges like an old friend. He and Go Miran, played by actress Won Jin Ah, agree to take part in the show’s project where the participants are frozen for a full 24 hours. The two awaken probably feeling a bit chilly from whatever kind of freezing capsule they’ve been quartered in except, well, they weren’t just frozen for 24 hours; alas they’ve been in the deep freeze for 20 years! Uh-oh, that’s definitely NOT something they signed up for!

Dong-chan and Miran retain their youthful looks prior to being frozen. However, when Ma Dong-chan reunites with his family, he’s surprised to see how much they’ve aged. So has his former girlfriend, Na Ha-young, played by Yoon Se-ah who isn’t quite keen on her former lover’s return. After all, would you happily sit waiting for someone that long? Se-ah eventually comes around and warms up to the idea of giving their relationship another chance. Tsk tsk, viewers will surely be in for a love triangle since it’s expected that Ma Dong-chan and Go Mi-ran will fall in love with each other while trying to identify the mysterious person behind this epic mistake. All that while making sure that their body temperature remains at a certain level to avoid being in serious danger.

With Melting Me Softly nearing its premiere date, the show continues to whet our appetites with new drops of character posters with the cast looking quite fierce and their clever one-liners giving us a glimpse of what to expect.

Ji Chang Wook is giving us Captain America feels with his hair resembling Cap’s, only a bit longer and less tidy. Like Cap, he looks every bit as determined to fulfill what he sets out to do.

Won Jin Ah on the other hand is stunning even though she’s wearing that seemingly annoyed look and going on about wanting 20 years of her life back. Oh boy, I’d be pissed too if I were in her shoes.

Meanwhile, actress Yoon Se-ah who’s in her early 40’s is a older than her two co-stars which is to be expected given the plot of the drama wearing a hopeful smile for a past love that has yet to be completed.
To say that I’m excited to see this is an understatement. Honestly, I was really going to watch it regardless of the plot since I love Ji Chang-Wook but with this plot? I’m definitely hooked! “Wookie” sure knows how to pick a unique project – remember his film Fabricated City where the antagonist commits the crimes in unusual yet fascinating ways? It still amazes me to this day. Lol. Anyway, I’ll be sure to tune in to his newest drama once it hits television screens!
