The xianxia movie Jade Dynasty 诛仙 which stars Xiao Zhan, Meng Meiqi, Li Qin and Tina Tang Yixin is set to premiere this coming September 13.

Based on Xiao Ding’s novel of the same name, many are excited to see Xiao Zhan’s portrayal of the main character Zhang Xiaofan, especially as the actor has recently experienced a surge in popularity after playing Wei Wuxian in the hit series The Untamed. There are even similarities in the sense that Zhang Xiaofan undergoes a major change as the story progresses.

The movie hasn’t been released, but it appears that the producers of Jade Dynasty have already decided to make a sequel. The major giveaway is the change in title in posters and even the latest trailer where a minuscule but visible 1 has been added. The Chinese title Zhu Xian (诛仙) has now been changed to Zhu Xian I (诛仙 I). New Classics Pictures has confirmed that they are in the midst of preparing for the sequel and a script is in the works. Here’s the big question, will the cast be returning?

Isn't it too fast decision? The movie hasn't been aired yet. The percentage of success is high because of the massive popularity xiao zhan has because of the untamed. But it still need the result of viewer opinion after this movie aired or maybe this movie already aired??? If they are so busy promoting xiao zhan's new drama one after the other one, could they just make new bromance drama with xiao zhan and wang yi bo? It really would make fans that love the untamed like me so happy. I know fans couldn't force their opinion toward the actor or actress, so just somewhat hopeful of the future drama.

A bit surprised, but then again, the filming notice they submitted back then did list it as Zhuxian I. I am hopeful that the series of movies could adapt the novel story as faithfully as possible. Also, lol very funny when i read the reactions and some people were like hope Biyao dies as soon as possible XD

LOL
Of course! They don't have 50 episodes but nearly 50 minutes. If she doesn't die then the story would never move.
The story is long (but 50 episodes is ridiculous, 10-20 should do at most), it will be hard to make it into a movie. Hopefully they know how to manage their time and reasonably stay true to the novel.

Haha they were mostly referring on how they dont want to watch mmq's biyao again in the sequel(s) or most of the first movie really.
