Lay Zhang Yixing has glistened onstage in his first ever solo concert tour. While it is a monumental achievement for the singer-actor, some have accused him of lip synching. Having successfully completed four concerts, Lay writes a heartfelt letter to his fans.
He begins by talking about his life and his obsession with music, about how life is continually counting down and that the opportunity to be in concerts is also becoming fewer so he would rather cherish the present and live in the now. Lay admits that he still gets nervous on stage despite all the effort and preparation he and his crew have undertaken. After all, performing 19 songs in a concert was no easy task and there was no way to make sure that everything would go as planned. All Lay Zhang could ever really do is give it his all, like he usually does.
Furthermore, he says that many problems have arisen due to the lack of dry runs and preparation. That’s also why doubts about his singing have popped up. Lay Zhang mentions that his crew so upset about the whole issue that they wanted to make a statement but Lay chose not to do so, saying that the stage is the only way to solve issues about his performance and that criticisms were necessary to make progress. Lay regards his concerts as something of a report card that grades his performance. It is his confession of love to everyone and his answer to everyone’s support.
Lay Zhang adds that he is grateful everyone for their continued support and that his fans have made his life extraordinary. Now a bit older, he still looks forward to performing into the next decade and hopes to still be able to sing until he’s 60 years old.
