I’ve always been a sucker for crime-themed dramas so when I heard that there’s an update about a new K-drama that’s all about a deranged murderer, I knew I had to let it out! tvN has confirmed the cast for their upcoming drama, Psychopath’s Diary. Sure, there have been reports before that the three actors were positively considering the casting offer but at least now, it’s official!
Yoon Shi Yoon who rose to international stardom thanks to his role in The Baker King will play Yook Dong Shik. He’s a very timid man who often gets bullied and it becomes too much for him that he decides to end his life. But little does he know that the place he’s chosen to kill himself is a site of a gruesome murder. He runs away from the place but unfortunately, gets hit by a car. He wakes up with no memory and possessing a diary of a murderer (hence the title). A series of coincidences made him think that he’s the culprit.
He’ll be joined by the charming Jung In Sun. Many of you might remember her as the single mother in Welcome to Waikiki. She will be a police officer whose talent goes unnoticed. She has dreams of becoming a profiler but in reality, she’s only been trusted with the duty of a patrol officer and has never worked an official case. But it seems like things are going to change once she encounters the amnesiac male lead. Playing the antagonist and the owner of the diary is Park Sung Hoon. He’s part of the currently airing legal drama, Justice.
I’ll be completely honest and say that I’m not a fan of any of these stars (not a hater too, just so we’re clear) but I do remember watching The Baker King when it aired so I know that Yoon Shi Yoon can act. I’m kinda curious how the story will play out since it has an interesting plot.
