Sporting events have a way of turning even the most unsporty and skeptical into fans. Or maybe it’s just the atmosphere of camaraderie, excitement, sportsmanship and tradition that attracts attendees like bees to a honey pot. Whatever it is, as one of the highlights of an English summer, aside from some GREAT tennis, Wimbledon is also a chance to see and be seen as evidenced by the long snaking queues waiting to get into the venue and the always full bleachers despite the scorching summer sun.


Yesterday’s nail biting showdown for the Men’s finals between tennis greats Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic also brought out a number of stars and royals which added an extra shine to this year’s games. And aside from the Cambridges who are now yearly staples at Wimbledon – you’ll be seeing more of Kate now that she’s taken on a new position as the royal patron for the AELTCC, some familiar faces from the Asian entertainment industries are also present to take in the atmosphere and cheer the players on.

Before I yammer on and on, let’s talk about JJ Lin’s EPIC selfie which hit the selfie jackpot with the number of celebrities captured in the photo. Reminiscent of Ellen DeGeneres’ “selfie of all selfies” taken in the 2014 Oscar’s ceremony, this is something similar except it’s coincidental! Here, take a look! Recognise anyone?

JJ Lin takes a selfie with Chinese actor Bai Jingting and Korean idol Choi Siwon who were both smiling for the camera happily. But who’s that at the left shoulder of Siwon? It’s Crazy Rich Asians/ A Simple Favor star Henry Golding seated with Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone! I think both stars attended the match with American brand Ralph Lauren, lucky ducks. Eagle eyed Netizens also pointed out another celebrity seated just behind Siwon’s head – Brooklyn Beckham who attended with his girlfriend. But wait! It’s not over yet! See that lady in blue just behind Bai Jingting’s head? That ladies and gentlemen, is Kendall Jenner. See what I mean about this being the selfie that keeps on giving? It’s like playing Where’s Waldo albeit a Wimbledon 2019 celebrity edition!

    OMG!!!! lot of celebrities. Wow!!! Deepika- i love her. she is a simple, normal & down to earth celebriy in the recent days i have seen. And for the rest of the celebrities – thumbs up. I was a little sad when RF lost after the 2 championship points. But i like Djoko also. the top 3 are the best in men's and like them so much.
