You’ve probably seen photos of Taiwanese actor Darren Wang hanging out with the international zombie killing actress, Milla Jovovich and wondered what has brought these two together. Milla, best known for the Resident Evil franchise, is starring in her first Chinese film entitled The Rookies, due to open in cinemas on July 12. In lieu of the upcoming premiere, the cast which also stars Sandrine Pinna, Timmy Xu and Liu Meitong has been promoting in full force and appeared in recent posters.
The Rookies is a comedy action film starring Darren Wang as an avid extreme sports enthusiast. He gets recruited by Milla Jovocich’s top agent who enlists his help in catching the bad guys. The duo along with the other cast will fight the terrorists.
Milla Jovovich was in China to attend the movie’s presscon and walked the red carpet at the Shanghai Film Festival last month. Darren Wang posted wacky shots of him with the actress and referred to her as “my boss”. She is technically his boss as the seasoned agent in the film who takes a rookie spy under her wring. My fave picture was the duck face. Who knew the badass actress can do such a cutesy pose? They definitely seem to have a goofy side offscreen. I’m actually looking forward to seeing their chemistry onscreen and anticipating a lot of laughs from this spy action movie.
