What secrets does a building hide within its walls and twisting hallways?
Tencent’s newest drama offering, A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower 摩天大楼 serves up some strong Cluedo-esque vibes in what promises to be a whodunit suspense drama. A first look at the drama’s trailer shows a distinctive retro visual style and a warm toned colour palette reminiscent of a Jean-Pierre Jeunet sort of production along the lines of French favourite film, Amelie.
Guo Tao and Yang Zishan will be starring as the detective duo in this drama adaptation of Chen Xue‘s 2015 novel, Skyscraper about well, a skyscraper (or a building for lack of a better word), the intricate relationships amongst its residents and the murder of a mysterious woman, a coffee shop owner played by Angelababy. Not sure how much screen time Angelababy will be getting as it looks like she gets killed off pretty quickly from the onset, complete with a “victim” label onscreen, but methinks her parts in the drama will be done in flashbacks.
