After 96 days of filming on set, the Chinese adaptation of A Little Thing Called First Love 初恋那件小事 starring former Wanna One idol Lai Kuanlin and actress Angel Zhao Jinmai finally wrapped up production yesterday. In true to Zhao Qianqian form (Zhao Qianqian authored A Love So Beautiful and Put Your Head On My Shoulder), the series is another fun campus romance depicting young people in the first blushes of love.

Since their disbandment in December last year, members of the South Korean band Wanna One have gone on their separate ways with some of its members continuing to pursue solo musical careers and acting gigs. Like many K-pop idols before him, Wanna One’s Taiwanese rapper Lai Kuanlin announced that he will be pursuing a solo career in China. Amongst the projects he shared in a press con earlier this year is the development of a Chinese single as well as a (starring) role in the upcoming drama series A Little Thing Called First Love.

Also joining the cast are Chai Wei, Wang Runze, Wang Bowen, Zhu Jintong and Chen Kefan. What do you guys think? Idol stars transitioning to acting is not something new. Given the commercial “clout” his name will have on potential viewers, pretty sure networks are keen to leverage on his popularity. Will you be supporting him in his latest endeavour? Sound off in the comments section below.
