They had me at Rome.
Crazy as it sounds, seeing video snippets of the Eternal City has got me so so excited as Rome is one of those places that will effortlessly capture your intrepid heart. But, before I digress any further from the topic and yammer on, let me get back on track to say that recently, My True Friend 我的真朋友 has released another trailer to highlight the emotional attachments people have to their home and how our leads work around that.
My True Friend is a 48 episode series about two real estate agents, the trials and tribulations they go through, and the joys and sorrows they witness in the course of their career.
Angelababy stars as Cheng Zhenzhen, a newbie real estate agent dead set on becoming the best in her field. She is paired up with another newbie agent, Shao Pengcheng, played by actor Deng Lun, who intentionally keeps his identity as the only child of the company’s president a secret to prove that he can rise to the top through his own merit.
In the wake of the challenges the pair encounter, they discover many things about life and love in these experiences. Actor Zhu Yilong, who’s looking quite spiffy in a suit, is also slated to have a role in the series as interior designer Jing Ran.
To be honest, if you told me that the story was about real estate agents, I’d be like .. ” meh, pass”. But the producers could definitely pull this off with the right mix of cast, the right story line and … Rome. Like how many times can I say Rome, eh even though it’s probably just a small part of the bigger story. The drama definitely serves up some great visual gems don’t you think? Also in the cast are Xu Di, Tan Kai, Li Xiaofeng, Li Xinyi, Yao Anlian, Zhang Wanyi, Xu Hao and Ni Dahong.
