There’s been a slew of dramas having their boot ceremony in recent weeks, and adding to the list is a historical drama starring Tiffany Tang Yan and Shawn Dou Xiao, which held its boot ceremony this afternoon, Apr 29.
Coming from author Jiang Shengnan whose works include Legend of Miyue, Yan Yun Tai 燕云台 is another one of her novel-to-drama adaptations that tell a female-centric journey. It follows Xiao Yanyan, a young woman from the Khitan tribe that rises to power. She is historically known as a Khitan empress and a military leader.
Tang Yan and Shawn Dou play a couple for the second time since filming the romance drama See You Again in 2017, which unfortunately has not aired! (EDITED) Charmaine Sheh and Jing Chao who were in the two big palace dramas last year – Story of Yanxi Palace and Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace are also part of the cast. It is directed by Jeff Chiang who worked on the wuxia remakes for Legend of Condor Heroes and Heavenly Sword Dragon Slaying Saber.
Did anyone else think that Yan Yun Tai meant Yan Xun from Princess Agents at first glance? Maybe it was just me ?.

han derang in yan yun tai drama surely has different ending like yan xun had in princess agents. his love toward xiao chuo is also way better than yan xun's love toward chu qiao.

oops i edited. i meant i literally thought of Yan Xun because the title for this drama sounded similar to his name. i sure hope it has a different ending, was definitely not a fan of Yan Xun in the latter part of princess agents.

How should the filming with this? Tang Yan is reportedly pregnant. And with a baby bump, I dont think they will start filming anytime soon
