It’s been 25 years since the 1994 drama adaptation of The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber saw Kathy Chow reach new heights in her career as the iconic Zhou Zhiruo. This year, Kathy Chow starred in the latest remake as Miejue Shitai. I have to admit, there’s poetry in seeing Zhou Zhiruo literally turning into the obstinate person that she once fought so hard to please.
Kathy Chow gave the ultimate treat to fans as she dressed up as Zhou Zhiruo for a recent fan meet in Hengdian World Studios, looking fresh-faced despite being in her fifties. The actress says that Miejue is Miejue and Zhiruo is Zhiruo. Zhou Zhiruo left a very deep impression because it was a time that many grew up with. She treats both as separate characters. When asked what other Jin Yong character would she like to play, she says that she’d be interested to portray Mei Chaofeng.
