Sequels of successful dramas often beg one important question. By this point, Dylan Wang’s casting as Ning Que is set in stone as he has completely transformed into the young hero in Ever Night 2 将夜2. The cast and crew have been filming for a while now and there are enough behind the scenes interactions to answer the question in everyone’s minds – Who among the original cast will be returning for the sequel?
From the looks of it, there are quite a few of them! Dylan Wang shared a photo with Song Yiren, Hu Yuxuan and Wang Jinsong. Many were surprised to see the veteran actor in an old man costume and thought that Fu Zi was being replaced. Luckily, it seems we get the pleasure of having both actors in the drama.

Adam Cheng in costume as Fu Zi is shown at the filming location engaging in an intense discussion with Dylan Wang, Song Yiren and director Yang Yang. On a side note, the captions indicate that they’re talking about ‘food’ ?. Adam Cheng also just turned 72 on Feb 24 so here’s to wishing him a happy birthday and many more happiest of birthdays to come!

Dylan Wang as the new Ning Que. What do you think?

Song Yiren is still the adorable Sang Sang though with the stakes raised due to her real identity, it looks like season 2 will require heavy scenes from the actress.

Happy times with the troublemaking trio. Hu Yuxuan returns as Chen Pipi.

The two leads with Zhang Shuangli. He also has the standard white hair and beard that they seem to be putting on all of the veteran actors.

Yuan Bingyan returns as Mo Shanshan. Marco Chen Zhen returns as everyone’s big brother Li Manman. Kang Keren returns as Yu Lian (3rd sister).

Another big brother returns – Andy On.

Dylan Wang has his arms around his favorite Da Shi Xiong.

Kris Sun Zujun also returns for the sequel and shares photos of his transformation.

Cheng Taishen takes over for the role of Chen Mou, played by Liu Peiqi in season 1. Filming is still ongoing so we can hope to see more casts joining the show.

I loved season 1 and ACF but will give Dylan a chance since I'm rooting for more than who plays NQ but the entire cast that have returned. Looking forward to season 2.

I sincerely wonder why Arthur decided not to return for S2? But since he just enrolled into Drama school, I suspect he decided education comes first. But he has one of the strongest support in the industry, he has shown promising acting skills and he has a good looks under his belt. His future looks good.

I thought it was due to genuine scheduling conflicts. They listed the name of his other film that he was making at the same time…Legend of Awakening.

Change of investors and possible dirty plays (the rumor is quite strong). But sh*t happens in show biz everywhere. All the best to Arthur, he's still young, he'll have opportunities ahead.

when I foudn out there will be a 2nd season and we won't be left with half the sotry I was super happy.
But then I found out they'll change the lead actor due to his "reasons" .I was angry/sad of the change, but remained open-minded to Dylan since he'd have double the pressure – not only simply acting out Ning Que but acting it out as Arthur Chen did, you know, to get the mannerisms similar to the Ning Que that was portrayed so we wouldn't feel like it's a different character.
And after I saw the behind the scenes of filming…I'm rooting for Dylan. He seems to be doing very good so I'm super excited again for Ever Night 2 🙂

Just started watching it, but I'm really enjoying Ever Night. Love the relationship between the two leads and can't believe the actress playing the role is in her mid 20s…she looks like she's 12! Sorry to see AC go, but I do like DW and haven't watched him in anything since Meteor Garden, so I look forward to his performance.
