Happy New Year! There are many customs and traditions the Chinese follow to start the year right. For actress Angelababy, she welcomes the first day of the lunar new year as the fourth person to hit 100 million fans on weibo, just after Xie Na, He Jiong and Yang Mi. Ever since debuting in 2003, Angelababy has achieved immense popularity through her dramas, movies and variety shows. She’s also a mother to one son and a wife to actor Huang Xiaoming.
Already with 98 million followers when Yang Mi crossed 100 million last December, it was only a matter of time before Angelababy followed suit. She was part of the grand parade of stars who graced the CCTV Spring Festival Gala for Chinese New Year’s Eve, a once in a year event that holds the Guiness World Records as the most watched television program. It’s not surprising to think that she would have converted a few more weibo fans overnight, appearing like a fairytale princess in her song duet with Aska Yang.

I’m sorry but ABB acting is seriously shit, she seems to be narcissistic although I wouldn’t know that but her extravagant lifestyle doesn’t help and above all she looks obviously plastic. I’d understand if she were natural goddess beauty but even Milk tea meimei is prettier than her and she’s 100% natural

Yes I agree with you..I don't know why people adore her so much and why she got so many followers…although she has many followers but actually she is lack of talent…maybe she looks pretty…but for me she is not because everything is on her face is plastic…although she is Rich..but she's nothing you know..there are many unfair situation in centertainment…they keep on going pushing artist that have so many followers it weibo..but they ignore artist that not have many followers on weibo.. in my opinion artist that have many followers on weibo have lack of acting skills…but they keep on going pushing them just because they are rich and many followers..it is not fair

I don't agree that many people adore her, she gets attack crazy online by haters so I would say she has many haters. "acting is shit" "extravagant lifestyle" "plastic surgery" sounds very much like every other actress today. But when it comes to the others, people would make tons of lame excuses for them. ABB is not very good at acting da da da but lots of A-list actresses only act the same way like ABB, pretend to be blind all you want but her expressions are exactly just like every other actresses too.
It looks like ABB is hated because of her rich background and her past relationship rumors. Still nothing too different from other celebrities to be honest. If ABB being rich is such a crime all of your idols are criminals like ABB as well, they're also rich as hell. They all pay the media for attention the same way, and I bet they all even bought fake fans to follow them. Why should ABB get attack only? At least with her rich background she didn't sleep with anybody to get roles, although some idols may have come from poor background what could have they done in order to get top A-list roles? Yo people need to stop judging people base on their background, regardless of them coming from rich or poor family nobody is going to be the "more" clean than the other. They hide so many things about their life, who you think is dirty how can you really tell they're so dirty? And whoever you think is very clean, how can you prove that when you know nothing about them? It's only all silly imaginations.
Unless this article is proving that ABB is being a real diva and everything then go ahead we'll bash her all we want, but I only know all the bad stuff she'd done so far are only at the same level as everyone else.

I'm with comments 1 and 1a. There are lots of talented actresses out there. Even young ones like Kathy Wen Qi, Li Landi, Ju Jingyi, Jiang Yiyi, Bu Guanjin (Bai Yu's STS co-star), Song Yiren (Ever Night), He Landou (Moonlight Valentine's young star), Sun Yi. Slightly older ones like Yang Zi, Wan Qian, Tan Songyun, Tong Liya, Deng Jiajia, Jiang Shuying, Dong Xuan, Bai Baihe, Jiao Junyan, Ni Ni, Li Qin have done some great or good performances. Actresses with serious dance training like Sun Li, Dong Jie, Yuan Quan, Yao Chen. There's just a long list of actresses whose acting is superior to AB's. Even retired actresses like Barbie Hsu still acts better.
But without Huang Xiaoming constantly plugging them left and right, pairing them with (formerly?) well-known actors like Wallace Chung, Huang Xuan, Wu Xiubo. A lot actresses just do not have as many followers on Weibo.
Video clips of AB's scenes from her recent drama with Huang Xuan, Song Yi are cringeworthy.
But congrats to AB fans.

For those who want to see the glamorous side of ABB, there's a youtube video of World's top 10 most expensive wedding gown, ABB's is #2 or something. Her wedding is an over-the-top extravagant affair (with opportunities to place commercials?)
ABB and HXM are an extremely commercially minded couple. They are extremely good at churning out more money. HXM's mother used HXM's name to invest and ended up getting investigated for stock manipulation in late 2018. This was covered by scmp on their website.
The couple appear in so many paid appearances too. The whole family just loves money so very much. It's hard to miss that point.
