Legend of Awakening 天醒之路 starring Arthur Chen Feiyu, Dylan Xiong Ziqi, Cheng Xiao and Ancy Deng Enxi has wrapped after 129 days of filming in the three locations of Xinjiang, Yinchuan and Hengdian. It sure feels like an uncanny coincidence that production wraps around the same time that Ever Night 2 held their booting ceremony though I like to think of it this way, now we’ve got two fantasy series to look forward to.
The story based on a novel by Butterfly Blue 蝴蝶蓝 is about the action-packed adventures of four young heroes. Arthur Chen takes the lead once more and he seems to be doing away with Ning Que’s rough around the edges look to appear more clean cut. Given how tall Arthur Chen is at over six feet, it seems like the height difference will stay no matter who his leading lady is.
Aside from Arthur Chen, the casting of Dylan Xiong from Taiwanese boyband SpeXial and Cheng Xiao from the South Korean-Chinese girl group Cosmic Girls are also much anticipated. Ancy Deng Enxi who is only turning 14 yrs old this year rounds up the cast. Despite her young age, she has had roles in high-profile movies like The Devotion of Suspect X and Last Letter.
Based on the novel, Ancy Deng’s character Su Tang is the female lead, a character that’s been with the main protagonist since the beginning though Cheng Xiao seems to be promoted quite a lot as well. To be honest, I’m still confused who’s playing the leading lady in the drama.
