Anyone miss our ‘sticky-note’ girl? The hit 2008 rom-com series Fated to Love You is back with a new remake You Are My Destiny 你是我的命中注定 produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures.

In the new drama, the name of the lead characters will be changed from Chen Xinyi to Chen Jiaxin and Ji Cunxi to Wang Xiyi. Meanwhile, the second male lead will be changed from Dylan to Di Lun.

The original Taiwanese series starring Joe Chen and Ethan Juan follows the story of Chen Xin Yi, an unfashionable office lady who is often taken advantage of by her co-workers; and Ji Cun Xi, a wealthy heir of a big company. The two were both abandoned by their respective partners on a romantic love cruise trip and met due to various coincidences.

What follows is a series of unexpected events- a one night stand, a pregnancy, a marriage, a lover’s return and a lot of misunderstandings, too many that I wish she’d just go for our saintly second male lead.

The series has two previous adaptations. A Korean remake, Fated to Love You, starring Jang Na-ra and Jang Hyuk aired in 2014. On the other hand, a Thai remake, You Are My Destinystarring Sukrit Wisetkaew and Esther Supreeleela aired in 2017.
