On Aug 31, Bai Yu (Suddenly This Summer), You Jingru (Ten Miles of Spring Wind Can’t Compare To You) and Ji Chen (Sand Sea) wrapped filming for Detective L 绅探 after 103 days. It’s a crime-solving drama that revolves around a rookie cop who crosses paths with an accomplished detective. I’m guessing that L stands for Bai Yu’s character Luo Fei, and yes, Death Note did cross my mind. In the off chance that there happens to be any similarities between the two, I’m all for it.
Detective dramas never seem to go out of date, and the Republican styling adds a level of intrigue, at least for me. It looks like a bromance may also be in order, but I can’t help but think of Zhu Yilong, especially in that first picture. Bai Yu moved on so quickly ?!

Okay, so Bai Yu's new drama was the reason why he didn't shave off his "thorns" 😀 Still, I think he looks good with facial hair.
Back to the drama, yes, his bromance with Zhu Yilong is unshakable so I will tune in on this show if the cases prove to be interesting.

After Guardian I can't stand to see Bai Yu / Zhu Yilong romancing woman…

I can relate to you Anon. Actually, I experienced something similar as well. Not exactly with the actors with another female character per see but more like expecting some degree of chemistry between the new couple, which I think is the main issue when under drama withdrawal from a specific story or couple pairing. It simply shows that we haven't move on yet. Give yourself some time, and the feeling will/might fade away.
Myself, in order to cure from Guardian drama withdrawal, I started on digging their past works. For ZYL, I started watching Bordertown Prodigal. And my main issues was that I see no chemistry with his "female main lead" aka Ma Fan Ling. I disliked both the character, how it was written for the drama and also the actress's acting. I much prefer the OTP which is Fu Hong Xue with Cui Nong. So obviously it didn't help. But because I felt chemistry between him and Chai BiYun, It was less cringe worthy.
Similar feel with Bai Yu. I'm currently watching Memory Lost and I feel a bit uncomfortable whenever there is a somewhat intimate scene with his female lead. But maybe because Yang Rong is a good actress, I can actually comply better to the casting, see better the drama as a distinct story from Guardian. So the uneasiness is more bearable.
Obviously, we fans know that it is better for an actor to not be typecast-ed. ZYL also stated himself that he would like to try varied roles. As a professional, they would follow such path and we can't only but support or not support. But feeling uncomfortable as Anon is experiencing right now is totally understandable. We are humans with emotions after all.

Sorry my response was meant for Unknown first, then replied to comment thread but It ends up together in one big chunk of reply …
Back on topic, I feel like watching this drama too!

Typecasting isn't good for an actor's career. It limits their choice of roles and stops them from honing their acting skills. Portraying different characters every time will lead to more success in the future.

I found Memory Lost more memorable compared to Guardian.

I love a theme like this. I think I'll watch it. Is there any released date ?

They are actors. You'd better get used to the fact they are going to play lots of different roles and romance lots of different women. No actor wants to be typecast especially because of delusional fans who can't separate a drama from reality…

Can I agree with you at least…regardless of what they choose as actors but as fans we can choose too.
