The future of Dao Mingsi and Shan Cai’s relationship gets shaky and uncertain with Dao Mingfeng back in the game. Lei, on the other hand, still proves that he is a one-of-a-kind friend especially when it comes to Shan Cai. Whenever she’s feeling down, he’s always there for her. He’s like prince charming to the rescue, except, he’s not Shan Cai’s prince charming.
She’s on the move. Dao Mingfeng has taken action and all of Dao Mingsi’s banking and card access have been cut. This forces Dao Mingsi to break tradition and let Shan Cai pay the bill for once. It’s okay to let a girl treat you at times but Dao Mingsi is on edge as his mom circles in on them.
As soon as Dao Mingsi takes Shan Cai home, bodyguards surround him and forcibly take him to London. Luckily, Dao Mingsi manages to call Lei during the commotion to alert them of what happened. The F3 tell Shan Cai and she immediately makes up her mind — she will go to London for Dao Mingsi.
It’s a small world. When Shan Cai arrives in London, two street performers who serenade her steal her phone and wallet. Now, Shan Cai wanders the streets without any money nor any way to contact her friends. She walks into a Chinese restaurant to ask for a glass of water but instead, she meets Thomas (the pianist from before)! He lets her stay at his house for the meantime and guess what? The thieves who stole Shan Cai’s things earlier? They are Thomas’s roommates.
A tough choice. The next day, Thomas accompanies Shancai to pay Dao Mingsi a visit. It’s Yusao who opens the door and she warns Shan Cai to stay calm no matter what she hears. I was actually quite nervous, what did his mother do to Dao Mingsi for Yusao to say that?
Shan Cai comes face to face with Dao Mingsi and asks that he leave with her. Unexpectedly, Dao Mingsi suggests that they break-up, telling her that he doesn’t want to be selfish anymore and that he wants to stay in London to help with business. It’s so not Dao Mingsi to break Shan Cai’s heart like that.
Meeting friends. Shan Cai leaves with Thomas and they run into Lei. Seems like Lei got a bit worried when Shan Cai wasn’t picking up any calls from them. He learns about what happened and takes Shan Cai on a tour around London, buying her ice cream and visiting landmarks just to lighten the mood.
A scene shows Lei absentmindedly leaving his wallet with a smirk as he insists on treating Thomas and his friends to lunch at a high-class restaurant. With no wallet, they end up playing music at the restaurant to pay for the bill and even had cash leftover afterwards. My speculation is that Lei intentionally left his wallet although it never gets confirmed. I’m still wondering up to now because I’m not really sure why he’d do that.
