If last time, our scenes were full of love quarrels, we have less problems this time (except for Dao Mingfeng). Maybe this is also where Shan Cai learns to consider Dao Mingsi’s feelings and not just herself.
A rival. Just when Meizuo starts to win Zhou Caina’s heart, another man comes into the picture. Terris, the kind of old, maybe in his 40’s, hiker Zhou Caina met during a trip. Apparently, he was just a fling one summer that lasted a day but Terris is as persistent as Meizuo in courting Zhou Caina.
Zhou Caina on the other hand, takes after Shan Cai when it comes to her drinking skills. With just a few shots, she becomes tipsy and the two fight over who gets to bring her home. Meizuo claims the responsibility since he brought her there, while Terris insists that Caina is his girlfriend and that he is responsible for her. It’s so cute to see the two of them fight over her on the way home, they seem so engrossed in fighting over Zhou Caina that they forget about her completely.
Graduating. On one of their dates, Dao Mingsi starts to tease Shan Cai about going to London and not coming back forever. Shan Cai pouts and asks him to stay. She knows she’ll be sad without him, but Dao Mingsi surprises her by saying that he will study research for another two years so that they can graduate together. Shan Cai is so happy that she jumps from her seat.
The nightmare is back. Dao Mingfeng is returning to Shanghai. Dao Mingsi is sleeping at Lei’s (they’re my ship <3), and it’s too late for Shan Cai to leave and there’s no one to protect her now. She tries to hide under the table as Dao Mingfeng walks in but she’s just pure unlucky because her phone rings just at that moment.
Dao Mingfeng expectedly tries to kick Shan Cai out of the house, but Yusao surprisingly stands her ground to let Shan Cai stay. Yusao threatens Dao Mingfeng that she will die first before Shan Cai leaves.
I’ll do everything for you. The next day, Dao Mingsi hears about what happened and insists on moving out to live with Shan Cai. He tries to press her for answers on what happened last night but she just takes him to the arcade to let out her stress. It’s not that she doesn’t trust him, she explains that in their relationship, it can’t always be Dao Mingsi adjusting for her. They’re evolving into a normalized relationship as a couple that knows how to give and take. Shan Cai even initiates a kiss before leaving. They’re really, really sweet!
