In just three more weeks, Warner Bros will be holding the premiere of “In Rang: The Wolf Brigade”, the new comic book adaptation from director Kim Jee-won (“The Age of Shadows“).
The South Korean sci-fi action thriller is a remake of the 1999 anime film “Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade” by Hiroyuki Okiura based on the hit manga by Mamoru Oshii.

“In Rang” is set in the year 2029, when North and South Korea have agreed to a reunification plan to be executed over five years. The eruption of a wide protest movement opposed to the reunification prompts the formation of an elite heavily armed secret police unit. Kang Dong-won plays a member of this shocktrooper unit whose buried humanity is unearthed when he finds himself confronted by an innocent looking suicide bomber. Central to the conflict in the original manga and anime was the tension between basic human values and the political motives of powerful organizations. The injection of an issue relevant to the Korean Peninsula will no doubt provide much potential to this adaptation.
Warner Bros released a trailer earlier for the film which you can see below:
“In Rang: The Wolf Brigade” premieres 25 July 2018 in South Korea and stars Kang Dong-won, Han Hyo-joo, Jung Woo-sung, with Kim Mu-yeol, Choi Min-ho, Han Ye-ri, Shin Eun-soo, and Choi Jin-ho. The film also features costume design by Hollywood designer Vanessa Lee.
