Fame seems to be a double-edged sword. Yang Mi has a large fanbase but also weeded in between are the haters who have been taking advantage of social media to spread things about the actress. Having had enough, Yang Mi Studio has issued a statement to say that the internet is not a place without laws and that the responsible parties will face repercussions.

The statement is written to online users who are spouting hate, insulting Yang Mi and defaming her reputation through personal attacks. Her studio has formally filed a court case against a particular user (pictured below) and has named more users of Douban and Weibo that they intend to sue.

Finally Jaywalk does something to protect her after years and years of getting harassed.
It's a good wakeup call for delusional hater and antis.

She's issued a lot of statements through her lawyers claiming to take legal action, this is not the first time. She's going to sue Douban users for what? For the low scores they're giving on her series?

If you drag other actors/actress in here just to make Yang Mi looks good, then you are a hypocrite…crying about how your favorite works "hard" and it's unfair how she is getting hate yet YOU are giving the same "hate" to others. Don't act like Yang Mi's fans didn't spread false rumors or leave hateful comment about other actor/actress that you guys consider "enemy" of Yang Mi.
Every actor or actress works hard and nothing is based on luck alone. However, it's obvious to see who takes shortcut and step on others to succeeds. For instance, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and Palace. The movie version of TMoPB started filming and cast first with Liu Yi Fei, but Yang Mi's studio went ahead and plagiarize and hurry to put it out first. Movie productions takes much longer to produce while TV is faster. By the time the movie actually get release after the TV version, Yang Mi already step all over Liu Yi Fei for the fame and success by stealing and being there "first". It's the same with Palace, where the infamous Yu Zheng blatantly plagiarize Scarlet Heart.
It's true she works hard on her roles, every actress does, but the things she do to gain "fame" and 'success" is despicable.
I'm against extreme hate comments because no actor or actress deserve that but as a celebrity, everything you do is watched by everyone so don't cry when you get criticized. For rumors like Yang Mi's fake donation to charity issue…people call it false when it first announced then proofs pops up so their studio have no way of denying but pretty much shift blame to a middle man. First of all why would you trust someone you only work with twice and second with that amount of money shouldn't you "check" to make sure it's complete? If there is no smoke, there wouldn't be fire. Rumors all stem from somewhere.
She repeatably do despicable or questionable things that made many lose respect for her…
I'm glad she is taking action against nasty comments or those extreme hate comments though.

I read Chinese forums on a regular basis and boy, the things they say about her is truly nasty. Glad she is finally taking action.

Her face looks really stiff nowadays. Too much Botox.

I don't know if people attack actors in Douban but maybe she should sue them for wrong ratings because I am so tired of those actresses who bribe for high ratings. It annoys the heck out of me bc I expect 7 or 8 star to be quite good but instead they mostly turn out straight dumb. It is really unfair if actor actually gets higher salary or more fame because they cheat their ratings online, when the real fact is their acting sucks and the story they play in mostly sucks too.
All actors get hate. Some get hate because they are really too annoying. YM is one of those who gets so much hate because of being too successful. Though she seems quite plastic but she doesn't depend entirely on her face to live anyway, she is smart with high EQ and a leader of a studio. Some of her dramas were big hits because the stories were more interesting and good, not because oh she starred in it and she looked so pretty, or because tons of brainless fans just spread good (fake) things about every show she did.

That is the same thing with every actor and actress today, I cannot find anybody without lots and lots of Botox.
For example, Sun Li doesn't look like she did Botox but her skin are still very white like everybody else too, so it is extremely hard to tell.

She’s mediocre at best. Got lucky because she has her own studio, so she can produce and star in her own dramas. She let her protégés star in crappy dramas while she gets the better roles because she has limited range. She is also annoying on reality shows. I can’t stand her voice.

Douban is not just about ratings. They have discussion groups and forums there. People can open threads and spread rumors there.

Anyway its all business. If I am a television producer I will choose the more popular, bigger star to star in my drama. Her proteges have all had leading roles in dramas but all are downright flops, even though some of the roles they play had potential, simply because they aren't popular and lack public recognition. Don't get why YM has to do charity by giving the better role to them.

It is rare to see women being successful in films they produce, like Ruby Lin she did not do well with Qing Shi Huang Fei. I won't say it's all her bad acting's fault but the genre was o my gosh…
Not sure if YM count as a producer in comparison, but if it's true that she knows she has limited range and do something within her range only = AWESOME! I hate it when some actresses have absolutely no skill in something and try to over reach to that thing = big mess. If someone doesn't match to play something they should simply just don't touch it.

Yangmin got lucky? Lmao you must know nothing about her history.
I wouldn't call her best actress or anything. But she has many successful projects under her belt, even when she has no agency. That's why she is popular. And her commercial value is the highest among all the actresses her age or even all.
Talent alone doesn't make one sucessful. YM is super hardworking, smart and strong. That's why she is successful. It's not luck. She used to have nothing was blackened when she was rising.
She is in her 30, married and have kid yet is still topping many younger prettier better actresses. How is that luck?

If there is someone lucky, its all her proteges who are benefiting from being in the same company as her. Yang Mi got her first lead role nearly a decade after her debut; and even then, she played many supporting roles before transitioning permanently into leading lady status. Meanwhile, those so called proteges get 2 to 3 years after their debut.
Competition in China is insanely tough. Some actresses (Yang Rong, Shu Chang) who are way more famous were still in 2nd lead roles just a few years ago. Without the support of Yang Mi and the exposure she gives to them by casting them in her dramas, do you think they would even stand a chance? And you still dare to say they deserve "better" roles? Lmao.
Also, Yang Mi doesn't get "better" roles. I watched most of her dramas and some like The Interpreter/Negotiator are questionable in quality. The only reasons why they seem like better roles to you were because those dramas were a hit, and they are only a hit because of Yang Mi's popularity. If it were any of her proteges leading those dramas, it would have flopped.

And you blame her or anyone? Cnets would find any picture with wrikle, fine line, bad skin to bash any actress.
Like all the actresses is required to look perfect all the time.
But having watching Victoria in Moonshine, I don't think she has done anything yet.

yes yang mi is very hardworking. That is not luck. The lucky ones are the ones who only depend on good looks but no skills. YM especially gets lashes from this one enemy’s fans the most. The fans want their idol to top everything and delusionally blame everything on yang mi that she wants to be number 1 and would step on anyone trying to beat her status. It is the one who publishes 30 fake articles per day about herself using no stunts, having unrealistic 1 day vacation per year, poor and no connection background, having a extraordinary special face different from everyone else, and the list goes on but they all backfire. At least yang mi accomplished so much but doesn’t boast and cheat.

Don’t try to drag other actresses in to make Yang Mi look better.

Yang Mi was lucky in her timing and her early Tang Ren Chinese Paladin, ROCH and Gong roles. And the public loved the Gong plot and main OTP. Tong Liya is generally a better actress. YM had lead roles when there weren't so many great young actresses around to compete for the popular roles. YM's acting never really impressed. The new and young Li Landi and others are better actresses, if you adjust for the actresses' age and experience. Li Kaixin. Sun Yi is ok in some roles too. Actresses like Jiao Junyan and others are pretty good for idol actresses but they just don't get that famous. Deng Jiajia in Burning Ice was also good. I can't think of YM being so great in any role. It's hard to praise her acting or her Ten Miles of Peach Blossom drama given how the whole thing is built upon plagiarism of someone else's novel and they never apologized for the plagiarism. The whole drama was also fluff material, though the OST for the drama is at least above average.
I dislike YM's high pitched voice too. When YM pairs with Huang Xuan in The Interpreters, HX shows better acting skills.
I don't know what Cnets say of YM, but Cnets can give unnecessarily mean comments. It's not necessary to call certain actresses Xiaolongbao or sausage lips. That is mean.
