River Sunset 长河落日 is a Chinese TV series directed by Zhao Yilong and Sean Piccinino that stars Zhang Luyi and Janine Chang (she’s currently in Here to Heart which is doing really well). It is an adaptation from actual historical events of World War II and centers around the first bombing of Tokyo in 1942.

It starts on the evening of March 19, 1942 where an Allied aircraft carrying a believer (played by Shao Tong) flies to Yangon Airport in Myanmar, formerly known as Burma. He arrives and finds that the Japanese has occupied the country.
Zhang Luyi is head of the Tokyo Military Intelligence Unit while Janina Chang plays military doctor who develops feelings for Zhang Luyi. The two suddenly find themselves under Japanese surveillance and must somehow escort Shao Tong and the codebooks off the island. Will they be able to do it before they are caught?
