Even though the new Meteor Garden 流星花園 has completed filming, it is now coming to light that Shen Yue fainted on the set while working on the reboot and that 18 years ago, Barbie Hsu also fainted while filming the drama. Could it be a curse?
Producer Angie Chai shared that both actresses who played the heroine Shan Cai had the most work out of everyone else with scenes that ran through the entire show. Shen Yue reportedly didn’t want the studio to lose money for wasting a day of shooting to rest, unfortunately, her body wasn’t able to handle the fatigue.

In the meantime, the original cult favorite is airing again in China on the streaming website Tencent as the world prepares for the reboot version. There’s even the Japanese sequel Hana Nochi Hare that started airing last month. With that happening, it’s no surprise that everything Meteor Garden, Hana Yori Dango and Boys Over Flowers is trending over several blogs and news outlets.

PS: An interesting tidbit while we are on the topic of actors playing the same role, the three guys who played the leader of boy group F4 for the Taiwanese Meteor Garden (2001), Japanese Hana Yori Dango (2005) and Korean Boys Over Flower (2009) are still unmarried.

These shows have catapulted these three actors, Lee Min-ho, Jun Matsumoto and Jerry Yan, into household names. While their romantic life remains to be a constant hot topic amongst fans (Jun Matsumoto is dating Hana Yori Dango co-star Mao Inoue, right?). Either way, it seems that there are no wedding bells for these men just yet. Being the oldest of the three at 41 years old, Jerry Yan’s love life is often talked about especially since his fellow F4 members have all settled down.

I went from not interest in checking out HanaDan to totally interest in it. The HanaDan fever is working its magic on me. Hana Nochi Hare is better than I imagine. I can't wait to see the new Meteor Garden, though 48 episodes make me worry.
