In episode 1 of Only Side By Side With You 南方有乔木, William Chan’s character Shi Yue loses his cellphone and tracks it down by inputting the number into his computer.

He later writes the same number on a post-it note for the heroine, played by Bai Bai He, in case she needed to reach him. Ingenious fans seems to have beaten her to it as they tried calling and texting the number after seeing it in the drama. And yes, there is a person on the other line who refers to himself as Shi Yue, he has WeChat too.
Private information in dramas are often blurred out or completely bogus, so to actually get a working number may be a first and a neat marketing gimmick by way of fan interactions.

In response to the overwhelming amount of calls that he (or should I say Shi Yue) has been receiving, William Chan gives an amusingly deadpan statement, “Stop calling my number already.”

Yet it doesn’t end there. William Chan makes his first appearance in the drama all manly and topless. I think it’s safe to say that this is the kind of show that will have a shower scene somewhere down the line and it happens on episode 3!

This time around, fans had a field day giving William Chan virtual back rubs.

His response, “Stop rubbing my back… Since yesterday until today… What’s the point? Can rub something else?

sorry…I dont realy like him…I dont know why peoples get obsess with him…I know his drama are good…and he also can act…but sometime I find his acting are over..for example he always play the scene like kiss the girl with force…huhu..sory for me its very boring..it looks like in that scene, men nowadays not respecting women and treat the women like a toy who can ne force to do anything…I know its the acting style…but for me it is disgusting and jerk…sory it is just my opinion

There is also a scene where he says his favorite celebrity is William Chan ..
This said, if the character is supposed to have any "feelings" at all for Nan Xiao, they are not evident on screen

I have never watched any of his series and have no intention to do so. I do however hear a lot of good thing about Bai BaiHe. The one lesson I learned after years of not watching C-drama and only picked it up again in this past year is that the more popular an actor or actress is, the more fan services the production company will use and storyline/plot are crap. I do feel a certain kind of guilt for watching mostly Japanese, Korean and American/UK series and not watching C-drama series but most C-drama are just so disappointed.

Woah.. Maybe because people actually like William chan the person? We can separate between his acting persona and his real self? Its fine if you dont like his acting, but lets just stop there and not add anything else

I actually like the drama and both leads. It's my first time watching William but my second time watching Bai. I like her and hope to see more of her . Was a bit disappointed when I heard about how people responded to her supposed "scandal" . It's sad she went through that. I'm glad she's staying strong and moving on with her life

love this drama. it's really have a fresh story, I don't mind giving a 10/10 if there is no annoying flashback. This was the first time I saw William, he was a little ridiculous and a warm person IRL, try to see him on variety shows only once (happy camp for example),sure you might will fall for him. and oh when he's dancing it was really cool
