Lay has been going through a rough patch with two different production teams.
First is with his new drama The Golden Eyes which is still being filmed. On March 29, the production team rented a white Mercedes Benz as a prop for filming purposes. However, the driver started filming a live broadcast without Lay’s consent, which is a terrible invasion of his privacy, and furthermore, a violation of contract.
The production team apologized to Lay through the drama’s official Weibo page and took responsibility for what happened. They promised to take more measures to protect the safety and privacy of the artist.
Perhaps it should have ended with one bad day but no, there were more troubles ahead. The very next day, the Idol Producer made a mistake that deeply offended Lay who is the show’s very own host and also a mentor. In an episode of the reality show, the staff misidentified the person who did the musical arrangement for the song Mask.
It should have been written as Zhang Yixing instead of S. Tiger. In fact, Lay is the producer of the song and he also practiced the choreography with the trainees for the mentor-trainees collaboration.
Lay asked for an explanation on his Weibo profile and Idol Producer answered through a public apology to Zhang Yixing / Lay and his fans (yes, fear the fans too).
Of course, someone that works as hard as Lay deserves recognition for their work. Surely this was an isolated event that will not happen again.
