After being appointed some months ago, Liu Ye went with his family to Nice to formally become an honorary citizen of the city. He is the 33rd person in the world and the first Chinese national to be bestowed the title. Liu Ye posted about the event on weibo and said that he’ll do his best to promote tourism as an ambassador of the French Riviera. Likewise, he will also be promoting his hometown of Jilin to the locals. I didn’t even realize that Liu Ye’s wife is French. She’s photographer Anais Martane who is also from Nice.
