I’m seeing more and more crossovers between Chinese entertainment and Hollywood. Top Chinese actress Li Bing Bing has been in a number of blockbusters from Resident Evil: Retribution to Transformers: Age of Extinction. She will soon have another Hollywood movie coming up, this time it’s with Transporter actor, Jason Statham.
The Meg, is an American shark movie based on American author, Steve Alten’s 1997 novel, Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror. The movie is about a deep sea submarine that is attacked by a megalodon shark which is thought to be extinct. Li Bing Bing will play Zhang Su Yin and Jason Statham as the deep sea diver, Jonas Taylor. The film also stars Rainn Wilson of The Office, Ruby Rose of Orange is the New Black, Winston Chao of The Wedding Banquet and Cliff Curtis of Fear of the Walking Dead.
It will be released by Warner Brothers on August 10, 2018 on IMAX and Real D 3D.

I don’t get why Chinese artists can’t have an English name in these Hollywood movies. LBB can be Amy Zhang Su Yin.

Why does her character need to be called Amy and what's wrong with Su Yin? I don't understand what's your point. Does name such as Priyanka Chopra, Dilraba Dilmurat, Aishwarya Rai, etc short circuit your brain? Do every person need to have a westernized first name in order for you to say their name correctly?
