Guardian 镇魂 is a 40-episode Chinese supernatural drama that stars Bai Yu (Suddenly This Summer), Zhu Yi Long (Royal Sister Returns), Xin Peng, Jiang Ming Yang (Hot Girl), Wang Chao Wei (Border Town Prodigal) and Liu Min Ting (Rakshasa Street). This show is based on a BL novel by Priest.
The story revolves around mutants who believe they are empowered by God and refuse to co-exists with humans. After being defeated and driven away, the mutants known as “The Borderline” lived in exile. Zhao Yun Lan (played by Bai Yu), a human, falls into a deep slumber to save Shen Wei, a mutant (played by Zhu Yi Long).
From then on, Shen Wei must fulfill his promise to Zhao Yun Lan to be the keeper of the boundary. The humans then create the Special Investigation Division to catch mutants who escape exile and bring them back to the border.
After a million years, both sides were able to live peacefully that the Special Investigation Division became irrelevant and forgotten altogether, that is until a series of weird events begin to occur. Shen Wei joins the Special Investigation Division and realizes that Zhao Yun Lan is awake and knows nothing of their past. The Special Investigation Division also comes to realize the Shen Wei is no ordinary professor and somehow linked to the mysterious “four sages”.
It’s been awhile since I have seen an interesting science fiction drama and I love how they gave the cat it’s own photo! He must play a very important role! Haha!

Great watch just for the main two leads. Their chemistry is off the charts. I don’t care about the plot holes and the butcher of a job they did on the story (book is A+) and the sub-par production; what really made the show was the two leading actors. Highly recommend for off the charts eye candies who can act!

Love the drama, the cast, the story line, but I wish they could have ended up together somehow. To look and wait for someone for ten thousand years and find them, but lose them shortly afterwards it broke my heart. The lead men Bai Yu and Zhu Yi Long are both very handsome and beautiful men who are absolutely wonderful for this drama. I hope there is more to the story like it hinted at the end of the credits on episode 40. I've watched and read the book a dozen or more times. Fantastic, off the charts, and everyone should see this drama and read the book. You have all my love and support Bai Yu and Zhu Yi Long.
