On March 11, 2018, Zhang Li Studio released a statement to announce the breakup between Zhang Li and Joo Jin-Mo, citing their busy schedules as a reason that they often couldn’t meet. The couple have decided to return to being friends and request that fans respect their decision.
It was around the month of hearts last year when they confirmed their relationship after beinag spotted vacationing in Japan. Both met and likely started dating after filming the Chinese drama Honey, I’m Sorry in 2016.
It’s been two years since then and their drama still hasn’t found an air date, what with the Hallyu ban going in effect a while back. Both have moved on to work on respective projects with Joo Jin Mo promoting Bad Guy 2 on weibo as recently as a month ago and Zhang Li appearing in A Life Time Love last year. It seems like they’re parting ways for the same standard reason most celebrity couples use though it appears that the long-distance nature of the relationship would be an added factor as well. Wish them both well.
