Hu Ge is one of those actors that seem like a genuinely stand up guy in real life. Here’s a story that will make you like him even more. So it started through a post on December 31st last year when a young girl wrote about her battle against leukemia. Surprised that her post was getting a lot of shares, she shared one small wish. While she was sick, she watched Nirvana in Fire again and really wishes that @HuGe would speak or write to her.

In a private message to Hu Ge, she wrote, “Thank you for your Nirvana in Fire, it kept me company while battling with my sickness. When feeling unwell I thought of Lin Shu and you. Thank you. I will get through this.” The most amazing thing is that he actually responded with, “Hi! I’m Hu Ge,” followed by, “I’m not lying, I really am Hu Ge. Waiting for your response.”

He asked if she would be interested to watch his play A Dream Like A Dream and that he’d reserved three tickets for her and her parents. Fast forward to March and we get another update from a super happy fangirl who not only got to watch her idol but also got to meet him backstage. She thanked older brother (Hu Ge) for the tickets and the food. Hope she makes a full recovery soon.

Aw, man, this was such a good story! I remember reading about Hu Ge's accident a while back (early on in his acting career) and how it really gave him perspective on life as well as acting. He's always had this really solid, grounded attitude as an actor as well as a person, so it's heartening to see stories like these behind the screen and camera lights.
The girl is really pretty too, I hope she's getting better!
