Sadness abounds in the latest posters of From Survivor To Healer 爱上你治愈我 which brings together Shawn Dou (Tears In Heaven) and Miao Miao (Youth). Shawn Dou describes the drama as one of the most difficult to film, and here I’m thinking, when can Shawn Dou move on to happier roles? A rom-com would be nice.
On a brighter note, Shawn Dou reunites with Director Cao Dun of Tribes and Empires and also gets to work with former cast mates like Peng Guan Ying, Wang Si Si (in case you couldn’t recognize her without the tribal gear, she played Helan Tieduo) and Zhou Yi Wei.

Shawn Dou plays Yan Shu Ren, a psychiatrist. He is intelligent, perceptive and dependable. He lost both his parents at a young age and has undergone sixteen years of counselling. He has learned to keep his internal struggles under lock and key in order to concentrate on treating his patients, but he himself is a patient too. Outside of work, he enjoys rock climbing, outdoor activities and watching movies alone.

Vivi Miao Miao plays Sun Shu, a psychologist. She and Shu Ren used to be a couple when they were in college. Sun Shu decided to pursue her studies in Japan after their breakup and she is surprised to learn upon her return to the country that Shu Ren works in the same hospital as her. She has a passion for contact sports and has a tendency to be impulsive, but beneath the tough facade is someone gentle and kind.

Peng Guan Ying plays Chen Yi Fan, a cosmetic surgeon. He is Yan Shu Ren’s good friend.

Wang Si Si plays Lisa / Yuan Yuan. She is a high-ranking banking executive.

Jin Shi Jie plays Chen Yuan Geng. He is Yan Shu Ren’s mentor, doctor, boss and father figure. He holds a high position in the hospital.

Pan Hong plays Lin Zhi Fan, Sun Shu’s mother. She is a workaholic who lives in the operating room which results in many misgivings between mother and daughter.

Zhou Yi Wei plays Frank, the headstrong president of a company.
